Star Live raises the roof for NEON at Battersea Power Station
Watch us raise the roof!
Spanning over 3,200 square metres of floor space and standing more than 15 metres tall, it's built using the core principles of large stage roofs, but... the steel-clad insulated roof panels are 235mm thick to meet the onerous environmental requirements in London, giving the roof a massive self-weight of 128 tonnes. For safety and efficiency, the roof was assembled at ground level, and lifted using 48 synchronised chain hoists powered by our all-new smART™ hoist control system designed and manufactured in-house by Star Live.
Earlier this month at Battersea, Star Live demonstrated the innovative engineering techniques that define us.
We’re currently constructing a mammoth structure for our client NEON which will house immersive touring exhibits, announced yesterday and set to open later this year. You can find out more about London’s Newest Exhibition Venue, in NEON’s press release.
