Rapidly deployed solutions for the RAAC Crisis.

In 2023 the RAAC (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) crisis swept across the nation. The concrete, used in thousands of public structures from the 1950s to 1990s was assessed and found to be at serious risk of collapsing. It was concluded that at least 234 schools in England were directly affected.

In the wake of this, Star Live were approached by a mix of partners including local authorities and asked to deploy temporary classroom solutions, ensuring students were able to continue their education in a safe environment.

Given the ever-present threat of collapse it was crucial that these temporary structures were rapidly deployed. Over the space of just two weeks, and over three sites, these classrooms were built, fitted out and were ready for use.
At present the classrooms remain in situ – a testament to the quality of the temporary infrastructure Star Live delivers.
